A new children's nursery located off the Town Square, near the new main entrance, is nearly complete. The ceiling and new lights have been installed. Tile work in the bathroom is complete. This week cabinets are being installed. The cabinets are for both toy storage and for the adult nursery workers. The nursery has it's own bathroom and a separate room for sleeping cribs and nursing mothers. The nursery is available on Sunday mornings during worship and for other special events throughout the week.

Work Begins in Nursery
Work has begun on the new nursery. The photo immediately below shows the door to the nursery off the new main entrance. A three sided counter with cubbies will separate the children from those arriving for drop-off and pick-up.
The next photo shows the new nursery itself. The floor is being raised to the same elevation as the town square. This will also have the added benefit of insulating children from the slab floor as was the case with the old nursery. The door to the far right in the photo below will lead to a smaller room for cribs and nursing mothers.
The nursery will also have it's own bathroom accessible only from inside the nursery. Additional counters, cabinets and a sink will also be installed just outside the bathroom.

New Nursery Taking Shape
Often lost in the discussion of the new Town Square is the fact that a new nursery will be added to the Town Square. The nursery will be immediately available to parents as they step just inside the new Main Entrance that leads into the Town Square.
The nursery will accommodate the youngest members of our church family, members and visitors alike, with a secure main play room, a crib room, parent drop-off area, and new nursery bathroom.

Music Wing Renovation
Work started this week on the renovation of the music wing. The current music practice room is being reconfigured for use as the nursery when the project is completed in November. This summer, the balance of the music wing is being renovated so that a new music practice room will be available when the choir returns this September. In addition to the new music practice room, the space will include a pair of new bathrooms. The photo below captures some of the initial demolition work around the area that was the robbing and hand bell rooms.
